Topic 4: Upper GI Bleed update (with Q&A period)

10:50 AM - 11:25 AM

Dr. Jill McDermid

Practicing General Gastroenterology at the RAH since 2007. Completed internal medicine and GI residency at University of Alberta.

Fun fact: loves the food bolus impaction patient, hates the “head’s up” night-time page for a potential GI Bleed.

Dr. Amy Morse

Gastroenterologist (RAH). MD 2005 & Internal Medicine residency at University of Saskatchewan, then GI and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the U of A. Started work at the Royal Alex in 2011 after completing fellowship. Areas of interest are endoscopic therapy for Barrett’s esophagus, endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP and colon cancer screening. In 2015 I started as the assistant medical director for the SCOPE program.

Fun facts: my favorite GI emergency to be called in for is a food bolus impaction, I can speak conversational Danish.
